Quality and Usage Quantity
Extra Quality Truffle Mushroom: 10 grams and above. The outer layer, known as peridium, is 95% flawless and well-shaped. Due to its quality and impeccable appearance, it is used in the world's finest restaurants.
First Quality: 6-10 grams. Irregular in shape, with a maximum of 15% scratches or breakage on the peridium. It is a very high-quality truffle with excellent aroma, though its shape is not as uniform as that of extra quality.
Small Truffle Mushroom: Truffles weighing less than 6 grams, maintaining their overall shape. These smaller truffles share similar characteristics with larger pieces but may limit their use in the kitchen depending on what you intend to cook.
Bulk Quality: Broken or fragmented truffles that can only be marketed as a portion of fresh truffles. Ideal for those using truffles in sauces or grating, regardless of their appearance.
How Many Grams of Truffle Mushroom Should I Buy?
It is recommended to purchase 7-10 grams of truffle mushrooms per person. A single 50-gram truffle is approximately the size of a golf ball and will be sufficient for a meal serving five people.
How are Truffle Mushrooms Shipped?
After sorting truffle mushrooms based on their quality, they are washed, sterilized, and packaged. They are repackaged in insulated Styrofoam boxes containing ice packs before being shipped in vacuum-sealed packages filled with food-grade gas to your homes, ensuring the cold chain is maintained.
How to Store Truffle Mushrooms?
If you haven't consumed all the truffle mushrooms you purchased, knowing how to store them is essential.
Given the exclusivity of truffle mushrooms, preserving their aroma and quality is crucial.
It is recommended to consume truffle mushrooms within 3 days of receiving them to ensure they maintain their aroma and quality.
If not to be consumed immediately, store the truffle mushrooms without opening the vacuum package.
After opening the package, store the truffles wrapped in paper towels in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
For longer storage, freezing is possible.
Freezing truffle mushrooms in a sealed plastic container will help preserve their aroma.
However, keep in mind that frozen truffles may not provide the same intense aroma and flavor as fresh truffles.
